Homecoming August 30th

Heritage Celebration Month

The month of August will be a full month of celebration of the stages that Holy Cross

Lutheran Church has been on in the journey since the very beginning in 1960. We will

be celebrating stories and listening for the DNA of the congregation. This will be helpful

for us when we move into September and our Worship Café conversations to discover

our core values and hoped for focus moving forward.

Calling All Historians and Storytellers of HCLC: If you have a story, know of any

written history, or have an artifact (or pictures) you want to share this month we are in

need of them. You can email it or leave it at the office. We are especially looking for

special stories with the pastors who have served on the journey.

Oral History: Pastor Keith will be glad to visit with you either in person or on the phone

to hear your story and write it down. Contact either Pastor Keith or the office to set

up a time.

Mark Your Place and Journey on the Banner in Hallway: A paper banner and

markers will be available in the hallway with a timeline of the congregation. On this

timeline we invite you to write on it with different colors the following:

 When you and family joined the church

 Special dates shared at HCLC (Baptisms, confirmations, weddings,

funerals, etc.)

 Events of importance in the Local Community, State, Nation and World

 Anything Else

Homecoming Lunch and Heritage Celebration August 30 th : Come and stay after

Worship and join in the celebration. We will be sharing stories and celebrating all that

God has done in bringing HCLC to this new stage. More information will be coming

about the plans for this event but mark your calendars.

Signup to Serve as we Move Forward: We will also be inviting everyone to sign-up for

the new structure created to guide HCLC into the next stage.
